ASHP https://www.safemedication.com/how-to-use-medication
Take only medications that were prescribed or recommended for you. Do not use someone else’s medicine.
Request refills 3-5 days before you expect to run out so you don’t miss doses.
If you might run out of medicine while traveling, before you leave ask your pharmacist about a “vacation override.”
Read the medication label each time before you take your medication.
Keep medications in clearly labeled containers. Do not put a medication in a container labeled for a different medication or dose.
Make sure you can clearly see the medication and label before taking it. Turn on a light and check the medication name and dose before taking it.
Store medications up and away, out of the children’s reach and sight.
UPandAWAY https://upandaway.org/en/about-us/
Call medicine “medicine,” not “candy,” so children do not mistake it for a treat.
